winter snow removal

If you own residential or commercial property, it’s essential to understand your legal responsibilities regarding snow removal. The state you live in has laws that dictate snow removal, and in many cases, your city or town may have local ordinances or by-laws that further define snow and ice removal responsibilities. In Massachusetts, all property owners (owner occupied and rental) have a legal obligation to keep their property free from snow and ice for the safety of visitors and guests…whether it’s “natural” or “unnatural” accumulations.

holiday safety

At this festive time of year most of us have decked our halls to one degree or another and are planning holiday festivities. One thing that I really enjoy is driving around and seeing homes decorated with lights. If you have a heating oil tank in your home, be sure you consider purchasing Oil Remediation coverage for your policy. Typically, home insurance policies exclude coverage for fuel contamination to your personal property, groundwater, and a neighbor’s property, but you can add coverage to your policy, which is a good idea when you consider the costs of clean up.

Halloween and Insurance

Your homeowners or renters policy provides financial protection for a number of disasters, whether they occur on Halloween or any other day of the year.
