Murphy Insurance Proudly Sponsors the Groton Road Race

At Murphy Insurance Agency, we believe strong communities are built through shared experiences, local traditions, and supporting events that bring people together.

That’s why we’re proud to sponsor the Groton Road Race, one of the region’s most anticipated spring events

Taking place in the morning on Sunday, May 3, 2026, the race offers something for everyone, from seasoned runners to families and first-timers. Participants can choose from a 5K, 10K, or Fun Run, all set against the scenic backdrop of Groton’s beautiful rural roads. The race begins and ends at the Groton Hill Music Center, creating a vibrant, community-focused atmosphere for runners and spectators alike.

A Local Tradition Worth Supporting

The Groton Road Race has been a staple of the community for decades, drawing runners from across Massachusetts and beyond. Known for its welcoming spirit and picturesque courses, the event highlights everything that makes Groton special: natural beauty, community pride, and a shared commitment to staying active.

With a capped field of approximately 900 runners, the race maintains an intimate, community-centered feel while still delivering an exciting and competitive experience. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or simply enjoying a morning outdoors, the Groton Road Race is an event that brings people together in a meaningful way.

Why Community Events Matter

Local events like the Groton Road Race do more than provide a great day out. They strengthen connections between neighbors, support local organizations and volunteers, promote health and wellness, and showcase the unique character of our communities. At D. Francis Murphy Insurance, our Groton office team works with individuals, families, and businesses from Groton and the surrounding communities every day. Supporting events like this is one way we stay connected to the people and communities we serve.

Join Us on Race Day

Whether you’re running, volunteering, or cheering from the sidelines, we encourage you to be part of this fantastic local event. It’s a great opportunity to get outside, support your community, and experience one of Groton’s best traditions.

Hope to see you there.
