The holiday season is here, and Murphy Insurance Agency is pitching in to help kids by sponsoring a Toys for Tots Drive at its seven (7) locations in Bolton, Groton, Harvard, Hudson, Marlborough, Mendon, and Medway. The Agency is reaching out to the community to support families in need.

“Because we talk with so many people daily, we’re very aware of the increased number of families facing financial challenges this year,” said Dennis F. Murphy, Jr., CEO of D. Francis Murphy Insurance Agency. “By organizing this toy drive and being a drop-off spot, we hope to ensure happier holidays for needy children and their families.” Murphy served in the Marines, adding an extra personal element to the agency’s drive.

This is the 63rd year the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program has been in action. Michael Murphy states, “Our staff is excited about this effort and is already bringing in toys, but the generosity of our customers and the larger communities will be essential to making this drive a major success. So many families this year need help, and we hope we can make a big difference with our public effort.”

To help increase public awareness, the Agency is promoting the drive in conjunction with its holiday music sponsorship on 105.7 WROR with hopes of generating awareness and a significant response. While you’re at the agency making your donation, enter to win a night out courtesy of WROR 105.7. The night includes dinner at a Boston restaurant and tickets to see the Radio City Rockettes! Toys are needed for children ages newborn to 18 years. Donations should be new, unwrapped toys and can be delivered to 50 Main Street, Hudson, or to any Murphy Insurance office in the Toys for Tots drop-off box. About Toys for Tots

Started in 1947, the Toys for Tots program is the U.S. Marine Corps’ premier community action program, one of the nation’s flagship Christmas charitable causes, and the only endeavor within the Department of Defense that reaches outside the military to give something back to the communities from which the nation draws the young men and women who serve in the armed forces of the United States. Its mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November, and December and distribute them as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community where the campaign is conducted.
