about

Sterling is located in Worcester County, 40 miles west of Boston. Interstate 190 and Route 12 and 140 run through the town. Sterling's population has grown rapidly due to land and business development, making Sterling such a thriving and welcoming community. However, despite development, the town retains much of its small town atmosphere and New England heritage. Residents have access to many recreational and community activities, such as Lake Washacum Town Beach. In early September, the town hosts The Sterling Fair which attracts tens of thousands of people to the town. The town is part of Wachusett Regional School District.
