Location: Groton
Job Type: Full-Time, the schedule for this role is: M-TH 8am-4:30pm; F 8am-4pm.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Personal Lines/Insurance Branch Supervisor, you’ll be accountable for the agency’s branch operations, service and marketing, and staff management.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of all branch employees
- Review current coverage, assess client needs, and recommend appropriate insurance solutions
- Clearly explain coverages, exclusions, and policy changes to clients
- Use carrier and agency systems to generate documents and respond to client requests
- Communicate current industry trends, product updates, and technology tools to staff
- Support your team by providing technical answers and resources on insurance and technology
- Resolve escalated customer service concerns
- Participate in the employee selection process for the branch office; train and onboard new hires
- Conduct employee performance appraisals as required
- Participate in supervisor staff meetings
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to respond to requests effectively and efficiently
- In-depth knowledge of current computer system functions, input procedures, codes, reporting capabilities for all carriers
- Solid understanding of Agency workflow procedures
- Possesses positive attitude and makes every effort to perform in the position with a can-do, upbeat approach
- Ability to develop and maintain cordial and effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors and other business contacts
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with others to explain somewhat complex issues, receives and interprets complex information, and responds appropriately
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products
Experience & Licensing
- Property & Casualty (P&C) license required
- 5+ years of experience in a personal insurance account management role required
- 2+ years supervisory experience strongly desired
- Professional designations preferred
- Experience working within Applied EPIC agency management system a plus
- Bilingual skills helpful
