Marlborough is a suburban city in Middlesex County, Massachusetts about twenty-nine miles west of Boston along Interstate 495, and Routes 20 & 85. It became a city due to the population size which is still steadily growing. Marlborough became a prosperous industrial town in the 19th century known for its shoe industry and has, in recent decades, transitioned to the high tech industry. The city has a large and active business community. The residences local high school is Marlborough High School and also Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School.
