auto insurance ID card

If you're driving your vehicle outside Massachusetts, Murphy Insurance is glad to provide you with an Auto Insurance ID Card upon request.  Although Massachusetts vehicles are not required to carry proof of auto insurance because such information can be accessed via the RMV, many other states require drivers to carry proof of insurance in the form of an Auto Insurance ID Card.

If you have a traffic violation or accident in another state, you may be asked for proof of insurance even though such Auto ID cards are not automatically issued by insurance companies.  You can present your registration, which lists your insurance company and notates that 'No Insurance Card Required: Massachusetts' law does not require an insurance card."  Yet, some police officers may still ask for proof of insurance despite the laws in our state.  To be prepared, you may want to take a copy of your current auto insurance policy with you or we are glad to provide you with an Auto ID card upon request.

To receive an Auto Insurance ID Card, simply complete and submit the form below.

We'll email your card(s) to you, which you can print and keep in your vehicle. PLEASE NOTE: The ID card is only good for the term of your insurance. You must request a new card when your policy renews.
