Murphy Insurance is one of the largest family-owned, independent agencies in Massachusetts.  We handle all types of personal, business and financial insurance.  We work with over 25 insurance carriers and have access to over 100 more allowing us to develop customized plans to meet our clients’ specific needs.  

In 1937, D. Francis “Frank” Murphy started Murphy Insurance Agency in Hudson, Massachusetts.  He had “passion” for the insurance business, his customers, and his family and friends.  Frank was quite good at taking care of people and had already built a great business with many loyal customers by the time his son, Dennis F. Murphy, Jr. joined the Agency in 1960.  Today, the agency is still very much a family-owned agency lead by Dennis Murphy, Jr., Michael Murphy and Dennis Murphy III.  We’ve taken care of many clients for their whole lives.  In fact, we now work with third and fourth generations of client families.   

Over our 70 years in business, we’ve changed to meet the needs of our clients and keep pace with the ever changing demands of the insurance industry.  We’ve grown to 7 locations in Bolton, Groton, Harvard, Hudson, Marlborough, Mendon and Milford serving the clients across the state and beyond, but our greatest achievement is maintaining our focus on what’s most important…taking care of people.
