Effective October 1, 2008, an annual enhanced Massachusetts Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspection is required of single, full, or semi-trailers, used in commerce (over 3,000 pounds GVWR) or commercial vehicle/trailer combinations (over 10,000 pounds GCVWR), and all heavy duty motor vehicles (over 10,000 pounds GVWR) and converter dollies. Use the following link to access a listing of types of vehicles and inspections required RMV Vehicle Inspection Requirements

The good news is that if you are required to get the Federal DOT inspection, the Massachusetts Commercial inspection will meet that requirement as well. Your paperwork will be proof of the Federal DOT equivalent inspection.  For additional information, call us or visit the RMV website at http://massvehiclecheck.state.ma.us/commercial.html for more information on inspection station locations by town and vehicle class.

If you have additional questions or know that changes need to be made to your insurance program, please contact an Associate for assistance.
