Blackstone was originally part of Mendon before breaking away to become a separate municipality. It is located 36 miles southwest of Boston in Worcester County. The town is within the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor and was at the heart of the Industrial Revolution in the United States between 1760 and the early 1800's. Blackstone River flows through the Southwest portion of Town. The local high school is Blackstone Millville Regional High School.
